The safe treatment loop
Animal Hospital treats diagnosis as a separate job from medicine. The patient may look normal while a later photo, CCTV, document, or Scanner check exposes an anomaly. Do not let a busy queue turn an incomplete check into a treatment decision.
- Verify the patient. Complete every visual, photo, CCTV, document, or Scanner check available before deciding that the patient is safe to treat.
- Read the diagnosis. Use the computer or room report to identify the exact illness instead of choosing a tool from the animal model alone.
- Match the treatment. Use the symptom-to-tool map and carry the required treatment to the correct room.
- Complete the interaction. Stay at the bed until the treatment state clears, then confirm that the patient is ready to leave.
On a normal patient, the wrong tool can cause a death and remove one of the run's three lives. A wrong treatment on an anomaly kills the anomaly but is not counted as an animal death; the shift still pays less. That is why the fastest reliable player is the one who repeats the same check order every time.
Symptom-to-treatment map
Use the diagnosis text, not the animal species, to choose a treatment. The Medical Wing entries below cover ordinary patient illnesses; the Emergency Wing entries are used inside surgery or other timed treatment rooms.
| Symptom | Treatment | Use it when | Avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stomach Ache | Herbs | Take Herbs from the treatment shelf | Do not swap Herbs with Medicine when the symptom is a stomach ache. |
| Dried eyes | Eye Drops | Use Eye Drops on the patient | Do not treat a visual anomaly as a medical symptom. |
| Dehydration | IV Drops | Attach IV Drops | Do not leave the bed before the treatment state changes. |
| Bruises | Medkit | Use the Medkit on the patient | Do not use the Medkit as a substitute for emergency revival. |
| Fever | Thermo | Use Thermo once on the patient | Do not guess the temperature treatment from the animal model alone. |
| Rash | Ointment | Apply Ointment | Do not apply Ointment before completing the anomaly checks. |
| Bleeding | Bandages | Wrap the wound with Bandages | Do not rush the interaction and leave the patient half-treated. |
| Headache | Medicine | Give Medicine | Do not use general Medicine when a specific treatment prompt is visible. |
| Low Sugar / Canadian | Maple Syrup | Use Maple Syrup | Do not choose Maple Syrup because the patient is simply slow to treat. |
| Flu | Cough Syrup | Give Cough Syrup | Do not confuse Cough Syrup with Maple Syrup when the prompt names flu. |
The default carry limit is three treatments. Upgrade the Supplies Shop carry capacity or use a class with more slots when a later shift makes the normal loadout too tight. In multiplayer, say the tool name before taking it so two players do not leave the shelf with the same item.
How to complete Room 6, Room 7, and Room 8
X-ray: memorize four colors
Memorize the four-color sequence shown by the X-ray minigame, then repeat it in order. The available colors are red, green, blue, yellow, pink, and cyan. After the machine prints the diagnosis, put the report into the computer to reveal the treatments.
Watch: Do not rush back to the bed before the report is entered into the computer.
Heart scan: protect the percentage
Prepare the patient, connect the IV pole, and turn on the machine to the left of the bed. Tap the icons that appear and disappear during the scan, then use the printed report to read the treatment requirements.
Watch: Avoid the red skull icons. Reaching zero does not kill the patient, but it makes the scan take longer.
Surgery: finish before 45 seconds
Room 8 uses surgery-only tools alongside IV Drops, Medkit, Bandages, and Medicine. IV Drops is always the opening treatment and starts the 45-second timer. Follow the active room prompts and leave a safety margin at the end.
Watch: The timer can still run briefly after the patient appears cured, so do not wait until the final second.
Room 6 and Room 7 print a report before the treatment requirements are shown. Room 8 is different: IV Drops starts the surgery countdown, so put the required tools within reach before you begin. The patient can still die after the final prompt if you wait until the last second.
Emergency Wing surgery and Surgery Tendril
Surgery uses a mixture of normal treatment items and exclusive tools. Follow the active prompt rather than assuming every case has the same full order.
| Prompt | Tool | Room action | Most common mistake |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cutting step or Tendril surgery | Scissors | Enter the emergency treatment room Use Scissors only when the prompt calls for them Continue the sequence shown by the room | Do not replace a Scissors step with a random medical item. |
| Surgical incision | Scalpel | Start the surgical prompt Use Scalpel during the incision step Follow the next room instruction immediately | Do not start a surgical action before confirming the room prompt. |
| Organ replacement step | Organ | Reach the organ step in the surgery Insert the Organ Wait for the next prompt before moving | Do not consume the Organ outside the active surgery interaction. |
| Transplant step or Tendril surgery | Transplant | Read the surgery step Use Transplant Continue the fixed or random sequence shown by the case | Do not assume every later Tendril step is fixed. |
| Infection prompt | Antibiotics | Confirm the infection prompt Give Antibiotics Finish the recovery interaction before leaving | Do not treat an infection prompt with general Medicine if Antibiotics are available. |
For the Surgery Tendril, also called the Tentacle in the surgery prompt, the opening four steps are always the same. The last three prompts are random and must be read from the room.
Never Taser or shoot the patient because a Tendril appears. Complete the surgery instead; attacking the patient instantly kills it and counts as an animal death.
Special treatment uses
These interactions are useful when an enemy or emergency blocks the normal patient route. They do not replace the standard admission check or the active shift objective.
Stop Mass of Eyes with Eye Drops
Eye Drops can temporarily neutralize Mass of Eyes, but the interaction costs more Sanity than it is usually worth. Use it only when the team needs the enemy to stop immediately.
Enemy GuideMake Bed Monster leave
Maple Syrup, Organ, and Transplant can be used to get rid of Bed Monster. Keep your distance and do not shoot it while trying to create an opening.
Events GuideUse Cough Syrup during slime pressure
Cough Syrup cures Flu and can clear slime faster. It can also defend you from Slimebert, but it does not replace the full Slime Shift survival route.
Slimebert GuideTreat fire-related skin damage correctly
If you extinguish a burning patient by hand, the patient can require Ointment afterward. Using the Fire Extinguisher avoids that fire treatment step.
Emergency SolverShift 1 and team setup
Shift 1 is a fixed teaching run. The first patient goes to Room 1 and always needs Herbs for a stomach ache. The second patient goes to Room 2 and always needs Eye Drops for dried eyes; these two patients are never anomalies. Use this opening to practice the full check, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge rhythm before later rooms add more pressure.
In a team, keep one player on admissions and anomaly checks, one player on treatment supplies and beds, and one player ready for emergencies or hallway threats. The treatment player should call out the diagnosis and next tool, while the checker confirms that the patient passed the available anomaly layers.
Common treatment mistakes
Treating before the anomaly check
A correct tool cannot repair a wrong admission decision. Finish the checks that the current shift provides before using medicine.
Choosing from the animal model
The animal appearance does not tell you the illness. Read the prompt or report and match the exact symptom in the treatment map.
Starting surgery without supplies
Room 8 gives you 45 seconds after IV Drops. Prepare the next tools and assign a player to call the sequence before starting the timer.
Using the last second of the timer
The surgery can still fail after the patient looks cured because the countdown continues briefly. Finish the last prompt with time left.
